Process Technology, a leader in the design, innovation, and manufacturing of heating equipment, is looking for a Mechanical Product Development Engineer in R&D to design, prototype, and test new and innovative products. In this position, you will be responsible for the research and development of ideas and concepts for new products as well as improvements to the performance and design of existing products. The Mechanical Product Development Engineer will work as part of a larger cross-functional team using the Stage-Gate process to bring new products to market. Responsibilities:

  • Design, and develop next-generation products and innovative solutions for the metal plating and semiconductor industries.
  • Apply Physics, Mechanical engineering, Computational tools and related knowledge and experience to best develop design solutions.
  • Drive concepts to Alpha, Beta working prototypes and though the final design following a Stage Gate Process.
  • Research, design, and test materials and geometry concepts for use in thermal solutions development.
  • Develop Test methods and Test fixture as necessary to demonstrate the product function.
  • Create and perform cost analysis on bills of materials.
  • Work cross-functionally with project management, marketing, sales, operations, finance, and other groups to ensure product design meets Customer requirements, meets manufacturability and market needs.
  • Other essential responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent required
  • Critical Thinking, Strong Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in applying CFD and FEA to the development of Thermo-Mechanical, Fluid flow and Heat Transfer systems.
  • Five or more years of experience in a product development or design engineering role.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments, Design for Six Sigma DFSS and DMAIC methodology
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, ANSYS/FLUENT, Abaqus, Statistics, Minitab or JMP, Matlab, Python.
  • Good Presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Motivated, results-oriented, and high energy.
  • Project management training or certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel up to 10%.

  • Prepare and update designs, drawings, BOMs, and related documentation for engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.

  • Implement, maintain, and customize Syteline ERP to exceed minimum business requirements.
  • Program within an SQL environment (creating views, triggers, stored procedures), as well as using SQL-based queries from within programming languages.
  • Perform system upgrades as needed.
  • Manage IT projects centered around the ERP system.
  • Develop, code, install, test, debug, and document backend software applications using appropriate editors.
  • Perform network and security audits and tests.
  • Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
  • Identify, recommend, and prioritize new features and applications in conjunction with business leaders and department managers.
  • Define software application architecture and overall structure.
