May 2, 2024 Process Technology offers a specialty heater designed to survive the harsh operating environment in phosphate applications. The DAS-series heaters last significantly longer than traditional immersion heaters when subject to routine cleaning, thus lowering maintenance costs!
Iron phosphate, manganese phosphate, and zinc phosphate applications all have a similar characteristic trait; they all deposit chemical build-up onto heated surfaces. The buildup accumulates quickly and can get rather thick, which inhibits heat transfer. When the buildup covers the surface of an electric heater, it will overheat and burn out.
The DAS-series immersion heaters include the following features:
- Heavy outer-wall construction is able to tolerate frequent buildup removal. The thick outer sheath better withstands the oxygen-deprivation (OD) corrosion which attacks the stainless-steel heater surface underneath the buildup.
- Aluminum-filled heater tube. The aluminum-fill is able to conduct heat better than traditional immersion heaters by allowing the heat to move to an area with less buildup.
