Did you know every tank with electric heaters requires a liquid level controller as a safety device?
April 22, 2024 A liquid level control is listed in the installation instructions as a system requirement for electric immersion heaters. The function of the level control is a low-level shutoff of the electric heaters. This will turn off the heaters before the liquid level drops to the point where the top of the hot zone becomes exposed to air. While many different types of liquid level controls are available, Process Technology offers two types. The LC-series conductivity-style liquid level control features conducting probes that extend into the liquid to detect the conductivity between the probes. These are best suited for most aqueous and conductive liquids. The ESP-series capacitive-style liquid level control can detect the presence of liquid through the wall of a plastic tank. The ESPs are best suited for detecting deionized water, oils or other non-conductive liquids. These products can be integrated into a new temperature control box or can be sold separately for field integration.
